Kalayudha Foundation: Building Impact Beyond Ventures
Some problems do not have a business model. Kalayudha Foundation was established in March 2025 to work on exactly those — a non-profit arm that carries the same operating discipline as our ventures into education, health access, and sustainable funding.
Why a venture builder needs a foundation
Kalayudha builds companies, and companies are good at problems where somebody can pay for the solution. They are far weaker in the gap before that point: the worker who needs certified training before a legal job abroad is even possible, the community that needs a screening no employer will sponsor, the programme that runs out of money at the end of a grant cycle. The Foundation exists to work in that gap — and to work there using the clinical, digital, and operational infrastructure the portfolio already runs.
Three programmes
- IEGS — Indonesia Education Global Services. Legal, properly prepared pathways to study and work abroad across eight destination countries. Around 295,000 Indonesians leave for work overseas every year, and too many go through channels that leave them with no protection at all. Language training, certification, and documentation are what separate the two routes.
- Field initiatives. Health screening and skills training delivered with portfolio companies and community partners, in places where cost rather than willingness is the barrier. Indonesia's child stunting rate still sits at 21.5 percent.
- Endowment fund. A sharia-compliant endowment so that programmes are funded by returns instead of by the next grant. Untapped national endowment potential is estimated at around Rp180 trillion a year.
Kalayudha Impact: 1,000+ training places and jobs
Kalayudha Impact is the delivery arm. Its General Service programme — run with Cita Bersih Indonesia (Satu Langkah) and CleanSheet, supported by Education Aid International — opens more than 1,000 training places and jobs. Training comes first and placement follows, so that the qualification and the job arrive together rather than years apart.
Partnerships that make the pathway real
Two partnerships strengthen the pipeline behind IEGS: language and certification training with Makara UI Academy, and training and placement to Japan with Wasaida Homare Indonesia. On the health side, an agreement between Plebo and Brawijaya Hospital Tangerang, supported by Kalayudha, strengthens the connection between patients and hospital care in the region.
The premise is simple enough to state in a line: everyone deserves opportunity, health, and a future worth building. Ventures can carry a great deal of that work. They cannot carry all of it, and they cannot carry it for everyone — which is why this part has to be built on purpose.
