Makara UI Academy and Kalayudha Form a Strategic Education Partnership
Depok — Makara UI Academy, Universitas Indonesia's professional development unit, has become Kalayudha's strategic partner in education. With the partnership, Makara UI Academy appears in the Kalayudha portfolio — its first member from the education sector, and the opening of the group's sixth sector.
Who Makara UI Academy is
Makara UI Academy is a special work unit of Universitas Indonesia running university-standard competency programs. The curriculum is research-based, taught by instructors from the UI community and professional practitioners, with formally recognized certificates — serious education, built for the working world.
From languages to certification
The program range is wide. On the language track there are Japanese, Korean, and English classes, complete with preparation for international examinations — IELTS, TOEFL, and TOPIK — including mock exams. On the professional track there are BNSP certifications and corporate training for organizations: leadership, administration, data analysis, and communication.
What sets the unit apart is its medical track: nursing training, eldercare, clinical preceptorship, and wound care — fields in high demand at home and abroad. Beyond the classroom, Makara UI Academy also runs digital services: an LMS for online learning, web development, content production, and a production house.
The international career track
Its flagship is the international career track — preparing Indonesian candidates to work abroad through official channels. The most established is the caregiver program to Japan: from language and care-skill training through to departure via placement partners — a program rated highly by its participants.
An institutional track record
Makara UI Academy does not work alone. Its published partner list includes ministries such as the Ministries of Transportation, Industry, and Tourism; state enterprises such as Pertamina and KAI; financial institutions such as OJK and Bank BTN; and Korean education institutions such as the Korean Education Center Indonesia and Soonchunhyang University.
